Where can I find replacement parts?

You may order them directly from us on this website or by phone at (800)750-2723. You may also get parts through your local dealer. US Stove does not recommend purchasing after-market parts. They have not been tested with our units, and we cannot guarantee they will function properly and may cause damage to your stove. The use of after-market parts will also void any remaining warranty you have through US Stove.

My pilot won’t light. What do I need to check?

  • If this is a new unit you should check to see if the ignitor wire is connected. This can sometimes come lose during shipping. Simply take the front cover off to gain access to this connection.
  • Have your installer/gas tech check the pressure in the gas line coming into the stove. There may not be enough gas pressure to keep the pilot lit.
  • If you have used the unit for a burn season or more, your pilot assembly may need to be cleaned. This assembly will have a gas residue built up. You can clean this using steel wool.
  • For further troubleshooting contact your local gas technician.

What size LP (liquid propane) tank should I use?

We recommend checking your local codes first. Expect to use at least a 100 pound tank. Using a 20 cylinder may cause problems during extreme cold conditions i.e., freezing regulator, frost on tank, nuisance shut downs.

Can I convert my gas appliance to another type of gas?

NO, you cannot. The American Gas Association certifies the unit according to the gas type used. Changing this gas type will change the certification, which is not allowed by AGA. Also, if you were to attempt to convert a unit it would probably cost more in parts and labor than it would to purchase a unit for the proper gas. Conversion of any appliance would also void any remaining warranty on the unit.

Does my VENT FREE fireplace put off water, and if so, how much?

All vent-free appliances, whether natural or propane, produce water. The accumulation can range from 3/4 to 1 pint of moisture per hour in the room. Under normal conditions, this does not cause a problem. However, if you have a problem, you will need to provide an outlet for this moisture. Adequate ventilation or using a dehumidifier will help. You will want to check with your state’s requirements and allowances regarding VENT FREE gas units!

Can I add to the installation kit that comes with my gas unit?

NO, you cannot. You must use the installation kit that comes with the unit. It cannot be altered in any way. This could pose a safety risk and will also void your warranty.

Can I install a vent-free gas fireplace in my bedroom?

As long as your fireplace produces less than 10,000 BTUs in a bedroom and less than 6,000 BTUs in a bathroom, according to NFPA54, it can be installed. Also, check your local code to see if this is permitted.

Can I install a Direct Vent gas fireplace in my bedroom?

Yes, the direct vent system is designed to bring in combustion air from outside, so the confined space is not a factor in regards to safety or stove function. You should always check with your local codes for additional requirements and allowances.

What is my warranty?

All replacement parts are covered for 1 year from the date of purchase. The integrity of the firebox itself is covered for 3 years from the purchase date. Some dealers may sell extended warranties. You will need to contact your dealer for assistance if you have purchased one and are outside of the US Stove coverage time frame.
